Hundreds of thousands raised at 34th Annual Foundation Gala
October 20, 2022: Our 34th Annual Gala, The Disco Ball, presented by the Jourdain Family, was a resounding success. Over 230 attendees participated whole heartedly in a night of fundraising, food, dancing, and disco, all in support of life-saving equipment and other high priority health care needs at Ridge Meadows Health and in the community. This is the first in-person gala the Foundation has been able to hold in three years due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Many attendees embraced the evening’s theme wholeheartedly, arriving in full disco wear, complete with sparkling bell-bottom pants, crop tops, jumpsuits, and short sequin dresses.
More than $219,000 was raised, including more than $40,000 from our always popular Live Auction and $16,000 from our 145 item Silent Auction. An additional $11,000 was raised through a variety of raffles, including one for spectacular diamond ring donated by Hammond Jewellers – a tradition at the Gala.
Attendees were also given the opportunity to make a charitable ‘From the Heart’ contribution in a live auction format to help purchase a Portable Bedside Ultrasound for the Emergency Department at RMH. A portable ultrasound machine allows ultrasounds to be taken at the point-of-care, increasing the efficiency of assessment, diagnosis, and intervention involving acutely ill patients with trauma injuries.
