Drive for the Cure Presents Cheque for $25,000
December 2, 2021: Rob Jeeves from Drive for the Cure Foundation presents a cheque to Laura Butler from Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation for $25,000.
Drive for the Cure Foundation has been our Partner in Health Care since 2004. Their donations of over $400,000 have purchased many pieces of essential equipment, making a tremendous impact on Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows Health Services.
This year, their gift will be designated to a Rapid Infuser for Ridge Meadows Hospital’s Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
A rapid infuser is used when patients require a high-speed delivery of warmed blood and body fluids. It is necessary, as perioperative hypothermia is a common but largely preventable problem with serious implications for patients, surgeons, and hospitals. RMH is performing longer and more complex cases which present the risk of malignant hypothermia because the patient is receiving fluids intravenously, which naturally cools the patient. The rapid infuser is used in life-saving situations where minutes count.
Thank you Drive for the Cure Foundation for being generous supporters of Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation.
