Heart to Heart: Words from Family Members and Patients about their care at RMH

By October 10, 2025No Comments

At Ridge Meadows Hospital, we are incredibly fortunate to have a dedicated team of staff who go above and beyond for our patients and their families. While our Caregiving Angels program allows individuals to donate in honor of our hardworking staff, it’s important to remember that you don’t need to contribute financially to express your appreciation.

Every act of kindness—whether it’s a simple thank you or a heartfelt message—can mean the world to our caregivers. Whether you’re experiencing care in the hospital or interacting within the community, our teams are proud to serve and support you on your health journey. They strive to provide the best in healthcare, and they do it all with a commitment to partnership and compassion.

If there’s someone on our team who has touched your life, we encourage you to share your gratitude! By clicking this link, you can express your recognition or extend a message of thanks. Your words uplift our staff and remind them of the incredible impact they have on our community.

Heartfelt Stories of Gratitude
Throughout the year, we receive heartwarming stories from patients and their families. These moments of appreciation not only resonate with our staff but also inspire us all to continue striving for excellence in patient care. Below are the Hearts received from patients and their families for 2025:

“My baby has been unwell over the last week and, as a first-time parent, I wasn’t sure whether to seek in-person medical care. I called Fraser Health Virtual Care and the nurse that helped me was amazing. She gave me excellent tips to help make my baby more comfortable at home and let me know what signs to look out for that would mean I need to see our family doctor or when to go to the emergency department. Thank you for your compassion and for giving me some peace of mind. My family is so grateful for this service.” Erika, Sep 05, 2025

“I would like to thank the staff at Ridge Meadows Hospital for the excellent care provided to my mother-in-law after her hernia surgery. A special thank you to Daniella, who went above and beyond to coordinate in-home equipment delivery and home care. Thank you!” Jennifer, Jul 28, 2025

“My mom had a mastectomy last year. After returning home, we noticed some concerning bruising on her back. It was around 8 p.m., so we couldn’t reach the surgeon’s office. We saw the Fraser Health Virtual Care line in her take-home package and decided to call. The virtual nurse we spoke with was fantastic. We sent photos and he quickly put our minds at ease—saving us an unnecessary trip to the emergency room. Thank you for this service!” Anonymous, Jul 14, 2025

“From the moment I arrived at Ridge Meadows Hospital, I was treated with exceptional care by so many staff members around the clock. I feel incredibly fortunate to have such a wonderful hospital close to home. A huge thank you to Doctors He, Hughes, Estrada and Harry — and to the amazing nurses: Katy, Fletcher, Danielle, Puneet, Mehssee, Nicky, Shawna, Jethro, Veronica, Sam, Rita, Sukh, Ruby, Wyn, Parb, Kamal and Rochelle. Your care and compassion meant so much to me.” Alexander, Jun 09, 2025

“I recently had emergency surgery for my appendix and had a truly wonderful experience at Ridge Meadows Hospital. Everyone was professional and caring. I stayed for three days and was even impressed by the cleaning staff — each time a patient was discharged, they immediately came in and did an amazing job. Well done to the entire team.” Joanne, May 05, 2025

“Dr. Oladipo showed such genuine care. I had been to the hospital twice in the last month and Dr. Oladipo truly listened to my concerns and did his best to help me. I’ve felt genuinely cared for at the hospital and I’m incredibly grateful. I also want to thank Care Aide Susie, who was very helpful when I was unwell during my first visit. Thank you both for your kindness and support. For Donna and everyone at the clinic who assisted me—thank you. As someone who is autistic and has complex trauma, I was very anxious about visiting the clinic. However, everyone was kind and made sure I felt safe, which I truly appreciate. Thank you, Donna, for your kindness and support.” Amara, Jan 09, 2025
